Born in 1967, Samir Mehta is an Operations orientated Director of several textile manufacturing companies engaged in the manufacture of Workwear, Textile Packaging solutions for the automotive industry and Sustainable and eco-friendly packaging including Cotton Bags for the European & North American Markets.

After completing Schooling at St. Xaviers High School, he went on to complete his graduation in commerce at Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai. He then went to Manchester University, U.K. to successfully complete his post-graduation in Clothing Technology.

In 1991 from offices in Mumbai he formed a strategical alliance with Tariq Marfani in the UK to source fabric & manufacturing capacity to supply to the quality standards demanded in the European & North American markets.

In 1997, he set up the 1st Apparel Manufacturing factory with a women’s co-operative in Ichalkaranji, India.

In 2000, he also set upindependentApparel Manufacturing Factory in Ichalkaranji.

In 2003, He set a joint venture with Tarameen Ltd. by the name of G.V.Textile Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd. Specializing in the manufacture of Textile Dunnage for the Automotive Industry. He set up the 1st Factory in the Kandla Special Economic Zone with stringent quality standards.

In 2004, as the market demand increased, he set up another factory adjacent to the current thus increasing the capacity by 100%.

In 2006, he set up a state of art specialist apparels and textile manufacturing factory in Miraj, India implementing the state-of-the-Art Technology and new eco-friendly methods in the process of production.

In 2006, his company Esteam also won the Fairtrade accreditation as well as the Global Organic Textile Standards Certification.

Eventual customers included Marks & Spencers Plc, NEXT Plc, Accessorize Plc, TESCO, Picard, E.Leclerc, Dickeis to name a few.

He has Sound knowledge of computer applications in the Clothing and Textile Industry, Fluency in several Asian languages, Well-spoken in French, Strong inter-personal and communication skills, Well developed leadership qualities, Imaginative and creative approach to work.

Married Shobha Mehta who is a director in all companies, and they live in Mumbai, India.

His interest includes Cricket, Volleyball and Football and a professional Sportsman representing Schools and Universities and various levels.
